Quote by Karl Paul Reinhold Niebur

“Man’s capacity for justice makes democracy possible; but man’s inclination to injustice makes democracy necessary.”

Karl Paul Reinhold Niebur.

Poem by Martin Niemoller – German Pastor & Theologian

Poem is by Martin Niemöller was a German pastor and theologian born in Lippstadt, Germany, in 1892. Niemöller was an anti-Communist and supported Hitler’s rise to power at first. But when Hitler insisted on the supremacy of the state over religion, Niemöller became disillusioned. He became the leader of a group of German clergymen opposed to Hitler. Unlike Niemöller, they gave in to the Nazis’ threats. In 1937 he was arrested and eventually confined in Sachsenhausen and Dachau. His crime was “not being enthusiastic enough about the Nazi movement.” Niemöller was released in 1945 by the Allies.

His  statement, sometimes presented as a poem, is well-known, frequently quoted, and is a popular model for describing the dangers of political apathy, as it often begins with specific and targeted fear and hatred which soon escalates out of control.

First they came for the communists, and

I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn’t speak out because I wasn’t a Jew.

Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me”.

A humble appeal to my fellow Indians

More violence in the name of God, community and religion took place in Mumbai.

Why can’t we all just get along?

How many more people need to be killed?
How many more mother’s have to loose their children?

How many more children have to loose their parents?

How many more spouses have to loose their partners?
Before we all can UNITE under the tricolor flag of India. If India can find ways and means to launch satellites, travel in space, build one of the most advanced missiles in the world & aspire to send a man to the moon in the next decade, such HIMALAYAN dreams can only be achieved by India by solving the most difficult problems in pure mathematics, engineering, astrophysics, chemistry, aeronautics and other scientific and social disciplines.

This truly shows that we are a nation of hard working intellectuals, who are open minded and ever ready for adventure and learning new things in life.

However, we are absolutely blinded by the subject of religion. India’s BIGGEST challenge of curbing communal disharmony, heinous acts of violence in the name of God is its inability to recognize that the true message of religion is HUMANITY.

We humans should start believing in HUMANITY more than what the good book teaches, because the very essence of loving GOD is to love & serve HUMANITY.

End the violence now and forever, speak up & hold our government officials and community leaders accountable for their lack of  integrity and understanding.

Let us all join hands and promise ourselves to respect each others views and religious beliefs even when they are in different than our very own, promise to respect each other’s Constitutional rights & to uphold the law.

Please, let us all get together and help India grow and transform into a more tolerant, civil & peaceful nation looked upon, well respected and admired by other countries of the world.Thank you

Let us educate ourselves on the dangers of fundamentalism in India & around the world.

I am a social activist, who firmly believes in a free democracy, and human rights.

My sole objective is to educate the people around the world, especially India, my birthplace, on the rise of government abuses, such as violation of civil rights & the sharp rise in religious fanaticism and right wing movements such as Shiv Sena, a ultra right wing Hindu group which admires & worships ADOLF HITLER. The Government of India (GOI) has done absolutely nothing to curb this menace for the past 50 years.

India has more than 10,000 Hindu and Muslim right wing groups. Each promoting their own dangerous ideology.

Shiv Sena wants to ban everyone from celebrating Valentine’s Day (February 14th). Since, they cannot convince anyone to follow their stupid ideology or share in their dream of  a “Valentine Day Free India” the Shiv Sena took it upon themselves to illegally “policing” the streets, restaurants and bars to enforce their will on the destiny of educated and liberated Indians through acts of violence.

Each of these violent groups work independently and in uni-some to achieve their political goals and objectives through the impetus of fear, intimidation, kidnapping, extortion, rape, murder and so on.

If we as a human race continue to tolerate, dismiss or simply turn a blind eye to these injustices, free democracies such as India will cease to exist as democracies.

The rule of law, freedom of expression, assembly, speech, & religion, among many other freedoms guaranteed by the Constitution of the Republic will no longer serve as the protector of its citizens.

WE must unite & fight criminals, politicians, & internal enemies of the state who hold positions of power in all three branches of our government.

WE must stand united if we want to secure the future of our country. This task is of paramount importance & I urge every man, woman & child to join me. ~ Thank you

A Dialogue with Mitt Romney & Supporters

Hello Friends & Critics

No, I am certainly NOT entitled to Romney’s money. I am ONLY entitled to what I earn.

However, Romney and the ELITE class, those SUPER RICH who firmly believe that they should NOT be subjected to higher taxes are plainly wrong. There are millions of Americans who religiously pay their taxes to the government.

Unfortunately, historically the ELITE have and continue to pay taxes that are much lower than the average American in comparison to their annual incomes & accumulated wealth.

The average American also does NOT evade taxes by siphoning off millions into off shore accounts in Switzerland, Cayman Islands, Bahamas and other countries that are tax havens for the SUPER RICH, narco-trafficers, arms dealers, diamond and bullion merchants & many other unscrupulous people from around the world who do not want to pay taxes to their respective National governments.

The tax evaders conduct constitutes nothing more than a crime against his / her own country. Whether that country is named United States of America, Colombia, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Norway, India, Singapore, Malaysia or Australia.

Paying taxes is a legal, moral and a patriotic obligation of every person in America. Whether they are citizens, green card holders, seasonal workers or tourist.

Yes, even tourist pay taxes but not on their incomes but on the products and services they buy while they are on American soil. Examples, hotel taxes, food taxes at restaurants and supermarkets, gasoline taxes at gas stations, entertainment taxes at the cinema and recreation & theme parks such as Disney World in Florida or Disney Land in California.

Americans who indulge in causing self inflicting wounds to themselves by coming to the defense of unscrupulous Americans who wear a garb of respectability, thanks to their wealth need to learn how society, government and citizens are inter-related in forming a NATION such as beautiful America.

I hope this clears up any ambiguities or misunderstandings that may have risen in the reader’s mind.

Thank you.

Confession on Love – What true love means to me?

Out of Africa (film)

Out of Africa (film) (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

This is what love means to me in context of a significant other (lover, girlfriend, spouse).

Its a man heart that speaks here.

Love diminishes our intellect and heightens our senses. I speak from experience. 🙂

Love makes you do all those things in life you have never done, never thought of doing or would never want to do for anyone. Yes, love does make you do things that you HATE the most in life, and you do it with a smile on your face and sincerity in your heart for that very special person.

When you are truly in love your mind shuts down, you go against all your principles and beliefs.

When you truly love her. You can smell her, taste her, feel her, hear her heart beat, you can listen to her cries and to her soul, and feel her presence all around you no no matter where you go, and much much more…even when she is far away from you or  long gone…never to return. Perhaps, that’s why they say “Love can drive you to madness”.

Love is eternal, it has no end just as our Universe.

“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.”

Dietrich Bonhoeffer

“The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children.”
~ Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Herr Dietrich Bonhoeffer was born on February 4, 1906 in Germany. He was a Lutheran pastor, theologian and an anti-nazi. His views and beliefs of the role of the Christian religion in a secular world has influenced many around the world. He also opposed Nazism and upon learning about the brutal and heinous crimes committed by the Nazis, he concluded that “the ultimate question for a responsible man to ask is not how he is to extricate himself heroically from the affair, but how the coming generation shall continue to live”.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer was one of the few church leaders who stood in courageous opposition to Adolf Hitler and his Nazi ideology, political, social and race policies.

Pastor Bonhoeffer was imprisoned at Konzentrationslager Flossenbürg (Flossenburg concentration camp in the region of Bavaria in Germany). He was condemned to death on April 8, 1945 for his anti-Nazi views and for his involvement in the conspiracy to kill Adolf Hitler. The following day, he was stripped of his clothing and led naked into the execution yard, where he was hanged from a thin wire. Pastor Bonhoeffer breathed his last on April 9, 1945.

The camp doctor who witnessed the execution wrote: “I saw Pastor Bonhoeffer… kneeling on the floor praying fervently to God. I was most deeply moved by the way this lovable man prayed, so devout and so certain that God heard his prayer. At the place of execution, he again said a short prayer and then climbed the few steps to the gallows, brave and composed. His death ensued after a few seconds. In the almost fifty years that I worked as a doctor, I have hardly ever seen a man die so entirely submissive to the will of God.”
